This is a great mix. A tour de force of programming and technique, effortlessly pulling off the feat of representing some of the most important names in techno at the moment and blending their relatively disparate styles to create a set that peaks and troughs at all the right moments. It throbs but is perfect home listening, striking the right balance between ambience and the dance floor. It’s loose categorisation to call it a techno mix as it’s much more. One of the hallmarks of a great DJ is the ability to create something new from familiar material. Marcel Dettmann manages this.
